2021.12.06 21:05 IWantedToBeAnonLOL How do you, if ever, be okay with saying ‘Yes. This person is not a good influence in my life and I am better without them.’ And then believe it?

I feel so broken and abandoned and I don’t know why. I was close to some colleagues and they’ve done something which I consider betrayal and deceitful (but I might be overreacting).
I’m really angry and hurt and I’ve asked one to not speak to me and as a result of that, they’ve all ostracised me - which is fine but it’s making my life at work really difficult. I’m honestly so upset and sad about it that I do just burst into tears at work. I thought a few of them, I really really got on with so this does really hurt.
I’m so angry and I know I’m better off without these people but I’m sad. I’m sad I’m alone again. I’m sad I always have to be the one to fix things (like I always say sorry first but I’m not this time).
A manager is like ‘why don’t you speak to them and tell them you’re hurt?’ and I just said, ‘what is there to say?’. I lose so much self-respect by saying that ‘cause they’ll probably just say ‘right…’ and there’s honestly just nothing to say.
How do I become okay with being excluded and knowing I’m doing the right thing but it still sucks?
I’m also leaving this role at some point but my new job seems to be taking a while to come through. Just some advice or kindness would be appreciated. I keep thinking something is wrong with me because this always happens to me.

2021.12.06 21:05 fullpurplemoon First time flying, nervous about boarding groups.

My family (four people, mom, dad, me and teen sister) is flying for the first time next week. My sister has some learning difficulties/medical issues and my family is a little worried about getting separated while boarding. Ideally we would all like to sit together but realize we may be split. We are not all booked on the same reservation so we all have to check in separately. We are a little nervous about not getting seats togethemy sister getting a boarding group not near one of us. Can minors (under 18) board with a parents if their group & number are later than the parent? Also, if anyone has advice for first time flyers/flying southwest, please shoot them my way. We already plan to arrive at the airport about 3 hours in advance.

2021.12.06 21:05 TheTraveler843 Anyone else love point spreads?

I feel like these bets go highly underrated and I hardly ever see the mentioned.
If you don't know, you take the total of the three judges scores, and you get +3.5 for the ML underdog for worse odds, and -3.5 for the ML on favorites for better odds.
So if it's 29-28 all 3 judges against your dog, you get +3.5 points added and win your bet. Same with the -3.5 for favorites. You just need them to win by 4 or more points.
They are good bets for taking a underdog with a little extra security for a bit worse of a price but to me it's worth it. You might get a +150 dog for like -110. But he only needs to win 1 round instead of 2.
Same for favorites, when you expect a blowout or finish (finishes cash too) you can shave a good bit off juiced odds by taking them to win at least 4 points.
I recommend looking into them

2021.12.06 21:05 unifleur Credit Card Tips

Hey servers! I’m usually short on cash when I go out to eat and usually utilize the tip option on the receipt from when I pay with my card. Is this option less beneficial to you than cash? Can you see how much I tip you if you’re not the person to cash me out? Do you silently judge me if I cannot tip with cash? I realize every place is different when it comes to tips, so feel free to let me know how your employer does things. Thanks!!

2021.12.06 21:05 SWorks2021 12 Days of Fitness issues

So I signed up at my club for this, and without even asking they created teams of all members with different coaches as captains. They’ve been blasting my email AND put me into a huge 20+ person group text chain with the coaches hounding my team to post on social media, to text and email them EVERY DAY with my workouts, etc. It’s bad enough that we pay what we do to workout here, now they are giving us homework? How does everyone else feel about this? I hate my phone blowing up with constant chatter, my inbox getting blasted, and the guilt trip they are giving us for not documenting every little thing we do…it’s ruined the 12 days of fitness experience for me.

2021.12.06 21:05 Attchi_ friends, family, death...

Early in the series during the mission of taking out those 8 nobles before everything went to shit, Guren challenged Shinoa squad to a 3v5 mock battle teaching them the importance of teamwork. Then they teamed up with narumi squad to take out on of the nobles. But before the mission, the discussion between nishoa squad and narumi squad didn't feel like it really gave anything... they just went on and on about how important teamwork is and how they are all friends and family and how the must not let anyone die and stretched how super important it is. But... when the mission started Yuichiro just kinda bolted? he really just said fuck it and went alone like what the fuck? what about the mock battle? what about a formation with narumi squad? heck he almost died had it not been for the others coming to save him and then after the mission at the meet up place Guren asked Narumi if they had good teamwork and he said yes it was really good like wtf? Weird how they talk so much about how important Friends, Family and how they can't let anyone die. But then talking nothing about how to actually prevent that through teamwork like what? Is there something im misinterpereting? Can someone please explain this?

2021.12.06 21:05 userluigi What is the best website to purchase any retro console/handheld?

Christmas is coming up and I have been getting into retro consoles like Gamecube and N64, also handhelds like Gameboy/Gameboy Advance. I want to ask my parents for one of these for Christmas, but I have a feeling most sites do not have good delivery times and are overpriced. If you have a site that has good prices, delivery times and sells items in good condition, please let me know. Packages should be able to arrive before Christmas. Thank you. 👍

2021.12.06 21:05 lost-in-earth "The idea that Christians become angels isn't suggested anywhere in the Bible"

Over the last few days I have seen people on Reddit make the claim that the idea that Christians become angels is found nowhere in the Bible.
Example 1
Example 2
This is incorrect. There are hints in the New Testament and other early Christian writings that imply that believers will be transformed into angels (or at least something like angels).
Luke 20:36 is one example:

Indeed they cannot die anymore, because they are like angels and are children of God, being children of the resurrection.
The scholar M. David Litwa has an article about this verse:
Litwa, M. D. (2021). Equal to Angels: The Early Reception History of the Lukan ἰσάγγελοι (Luke 20:36). Journal of Biblical Literature, 140(3), 601–622.
Here is the abstract:
This article argues that the Lukan rewriting of Mark’s ὡς ἄγγελοι (“like angels,” Mark 12:25) as ἰσάγγελοι (Luke 20:36) indicates a more robust idea of physical and moral transformation. In short, believers have the capability of being transformed into angels or into entities ontologically and morally on a par with angels. This thesis is argued mainly by a reception-historical investigation of Luke 20:36 up to and including the fourth century CE. Ultimately, I recommend that future editions of the NRSV not translate ἰσάγγελοι in Luke 20:36 as “like (the) angels,” as if ἰσάγγελοι and ὡς ἄγγελοι (Mark 12:25 // Matt 22:30) meant the same thing. The ἰσ- prefix expresses more than the vague term “like,” and translations of ἰσάγγελοι should reflect the more daringly transformational sense of the term: “they are equal to angels.”
And another quote from his paper:
My examination logically begins with Acts (which had at least the same editor as the person who composed canonical Luke), even if the adjective ἰσάγγελος does not appear there. According to Acts, the martyr Stephen already had a face “like the face of an angel” (ὡσεὶ πρόσωπον ἀγγέλου, Acts 6:15) the moment before his heated speech in the Sanhedrin. Before the speech, Stephen was not yet “equal to angels,” but his angelic face hinted that he soon would be.24 Indeed, Stephen the “proto-martyr” became a paradigm for martyrs who would experience angelic transformation. For instance, the Martyrdom of Polycarp (2:3) described suffering, soon-to-be martyrs as “no longer humans, but already angels [μηκέτι ἄνθρωποι, ἀλλ’ ἤδη ἄγγελοι ἦσαν].” Tertullian reported that the contest of martyrdom would result in the “prize of angelic substance” (brabium angelicae substantiae) (Mart. 3.3). Although we cannot call these texts direct receptions of Luke 20:36, they support a robust understanding of angelic transformation: certain special people can become angels, and this transformation can occur before death.25
See also the journal article:
OLSON, D. C. (1997). “Those Who Have Not Defiled Themselves with Women”: Revelation 14:4 and the Book of Enoch. The Catholic Biblical Quarterly, 59(3), 492–510.
To quote Olson's paper:
The theme of the Christian as angel is not frequent in the literature of the second century CE., but it does occur in a wide variety of contexts—a book of apocryphal acts, a martyrology, an apocalypse, and theological essays. What is most interesting is that the idea appears only briefly in most cases and is never elaborated, just as in the NT. In the Acts of Paul and Thecla (late second century CE.), we read this beatitude: "Blessed are those who have fear of God, for they shall become angels of God."33 The author of the Martyrdom of Polycarp (ca. 155-160 CE.) remarks almost casually that when certain early martyrs were being burned alive they apparently evinced no sign of pain, indicating that they were "no longer men but were already angels" (μηκέτι άνθρωποι άλλ' ήδη άγγελοι ήσαν, Mart. Pol. 2:3). In the Vision of Isaiah {Ascension of Isaiah 6-11), a Christian apocalypse written sometime in the second century (possibly late in the first),34 we read how Isaiah received a glorious robe and became "equal to the angels" {Ascension of Isaiah 8:14-15). In the seventh heaven he also sees Enoch and other ancient worthies "like the angels" (9:8-9).35 It is not clear whether the author believes humans actually become angels (in 9:28-29,41-42 he seems to distinguish between the two), but it is striking nonetheless, that Isaiah is full of curiosity about the heavenly books (9:19-23) and wants to know how and when the righteous receive their crowns and thrones (9:11), and yet seems to take the angelic transformations of 8:14-15 and 9:8-9 as a matter of course. Clement of Alexandria {Frg. 2) alludes to Christians becoming angels, without giving any details. Near the close of the second century, Tertullian {De res. earn. 62) is fastidious enough to devote a short paragraph to the subject, carefully maintaining an ontological contrast between angels and glorified saints, but elsewhere {De orat. 3) he has no inhibitions about calling Christians "candidates for angelhood" {angelorum candidati).
Everything points to a widespread understanding among the earliest Christians that the redeemed are destined to acquire angelic status and perhaps even become angels, but the concept is apparently so well known and so uncontroversial that neither explanation nor defense is believed necessary. That it happens is taken for granted, but the questions how it happens, why it happens, or even when it happens (at death? at the general resurrection? upon ascending to heaven?) are barely touched upon. John the Seer is typical of his times in declining to elaborate on the theme of the Christian as angel beyond such clues as the allusion to the BW in Rev 14:4, a possible gematria of 144, some suggestive use of the word δγιοι, and attribution of similar liturgical roles to the saints and to the personnel of the celestial throne room.

2021.12.06 21:05 DaBigGay9999 Is the 'Bel' signature Belphegor's?

It seems plausible, and both sides of the arguments have some weight to them. It seems the most argued contenders are Beelzebub and Belphegor. However, I compiled a list of the supportive arguments and the against arguments. Support: -Loona herself is very much apathetic/lazy, which are both traits of the Sloth sin. -The document itself is of small significant, however there's emphasised importance on the signature, and the only demon that could use the nickname 'Bel' is Belphegor, who is obviously of great importance. -Beelzebub's app, 'Bee Eats' implies her nickname, rather than 'Bel', is 'Bee.' -The signature is in the colour pink, the colour assigned to the Sloth Ring.
Against: -The scenery is very bright, and the atmosphere seems quite yellow, implying the photo could have been taken in the Gluttony Ring, as that sky is presumed to be yellow. -The heart at the end of the signature can be connected to the established heart imagery on Bee.
I've probably missed some, but if you guys think of some, please comment!
